Purchases
I paid and nothing unlocked.
Open Settings › Purchases › Restore Purchases inside the app. This re-checks your Apple Account and re-applies anything you own. Restoring always tells you what it found, so you are never left guessing. If it still does not unlock, your receipt from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com covers the purchase.
I bought Fateline on another device. Do I have to pay again?
No. Fateline Unlimited is tied to your Apple Account, not your device. Use Restore Purchases on the new device.
Is Fateline Unlimited a subscription?
No. It is a single payment. It never renews and never expires, and it includes every scenario pack released in future. The separate Fateline Pass is a weekly subscription; you can cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings. Anything you bought outright stays yours if the Pass lapses.
What do I get for free?
Every core action in the game, forever: living a full life, ageing up, taking any of the base career trees, earning money, relationships, crime, and closing threads. Purchases add more content — they never take away something you could already do.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in and choose the purchase. If something in the app was misleading, please tell us too so we can fix it.
Saved lives
Will an update delete my progress?
No. Fateline uses a versioned save that is upgraded on update, never replaced. It also keeps automatic backups of your last three completed lives, and recovers from a backup automatically if a save file is ever damaged. You can additionally export your own copy at any time from Settings › Your lives › Export a backup.
I got a message saying my save was recovered from a backup.
That means the main save file could not be read and Fateline restored the most recent good copy instead of resetting you. You may have lost the most recent few minutes. This should be rare.
Can I move my lives to a new phone?
Yes. Export a backup on the old device, send the file to yourself, and import it on the new one. Fateline validates the file before it replaces anything, so a bad import can never destroy a good save.
Playing
Why did that event happen to me?
Every event in Fateline names its own cause on the card — an open thread, a stat, a career, or a declared chance roll with the odds shown. If you ever see an event that does not explain itself, that is a bug and we would like to hear about it.
A negative thread is stuck open.
Every negative thread has at least one documented way to close it. Tap the thread in the rail on the right to see what closes it.
Does Fateline need an internet connection?
No. The whole game runs offline. A connection is only used to contact the App Store when you make or restore a purchase.
Accessibility
Fateline supports Dynamic Type and VoiceOver throughout. Accessibility problems are treated as normal bugs and fixed in the next update.
Content
Fateline is rated 12+. It deliberately contains no self-harm, suicide or eating-disorder content. Crime is written as consequences and is never instructional. Content that crosses a line is removed in the next update.
